Newbie from Adelaide

Postby oakoh123 » Mon Mar 01, 2010 7:12 pm

Hi everyone!
Just found out about this sight and im glad to be on here.
I completed my Diploma in Beauty Therapy 10 years ago, and completed my Nail Tech course 7 years ago. In this time I have been busy having 3 children. But now Im really ready to put my talents to use, as family were the only ones really getting any services from me, Unfortunately I have major confidence issues and always feel like Im not doing it right, thats not with my beauty but with my nails :( But I no that i have great character and i think it maybe more that i dont have alot of people to work with and i just need to get alot more practice again (any tips would be great).
Hopefully my ideal would be to get some part-time work during school hours and do what a love doing!! So if anyones looking to take on someone in Adelaide with great attitude, who needs stability and someone reliable but could help out with getting my confidence in my services back up then im your girl hehe!!

Howdy!

It's great that you joined us :-). Us Adelaide techs sometimes meet up for nail play dates so if you are interested in the next one we will send you the details. It's a great opportunity to sharpen up your skills, have a chat, eat some grub, and have a good laugh :D .

Confidence is something that you will grow with time... you will be great! Welcome back into the industry :-)

hi, welcome, def meet up 4 some playdays if u can, it helps! I would suggest looking on careerone or similar websites if u are looking for some work to help with the support/confidence....I'll probably get a bit of backlash here, but unfortunately there aren't many (in adelaide anyway!) who are willing to employ someone who isn't perfect so to speak... But wish U sincerely all the best in finding someone who can help...I'd put my hand up to help you, but i'm a crap newbie, lol

That's absolutely bollocks! You are very creative and learn quickly but like many techs you are lacking the confidence in your own skills

Isn't it funny how so many nail techs put out the best work, but lack the confidence to know just how great they are, or second guess themselves :( I think its sad
